Criminal Record Search - Providing a safe workplace is every employer's concern. Additionally, the employer wants to minimize fraud, theft. vandalism, injuries, absenteeism, and turnover. Due diligence is required of the employer to reduce the threat of "Negligent Hiring" litigation.

 


A criminal record search provides the information needed to make an informed hiring decision. Pre-Employment Solutions, Inc.'s identifies criminal history at the state, county and/or federal levels that you select.

Statewide Criminal Search
In some states, counties report criminal history to a statewide repository. However, the level of information (some only report felonies) and completeness (not all counties report- typically because of technical limitations) varies from state to state. A statewide search can be by far your most affordable alternative, if the level of information in the statewide repository fits your needs.

County and District Courthouse Search
A hands-on search of court records is performed in the 3,300 plus counties/cities (in some jurisdictions criminal records are maintained by the city) in the United States. Most of these searches are completed within one to three business days, and provide the most up-to-date information available. Case information includes felonies, misdemeanors and criminal traffic offenses. Note: Multiple counties in a metropolitan area can be searched for a lower total price.

Federal District Court Search
A search of Federal offenses including kidnapping, interstate drug trafficking, civil rights violations, securities violations, weapons violations, tax law violations, and immigration offenses in the 94 federal district courts.

Sex Offenders
A state based search for individuals who are required to register with the state as a sex offender (not available in all states).

International Criminal Searches
A search for criminal offenses in over 175 countries. Additional identifiers may be required and depending on the country, results may include type of charge, trial date and/or offense date, date of conviction, sentence and dispositions. Also, depending on the country, arrests/detentions may be reported.

Credit Reports
These reports are particularly useful for positions where access to cash, expensive equipment or other people's property is present. Information includes payment history, and public records such as collections, judgments, foreclosures, bankruptcies, liens, and garnishments. These reports can be used to identify excess debt and to determine the level of financial responsibility. Additional information includes the validity of the social security number as well as the state and date of issuance. Credit reports are available instantly.

Driving Records
These records are a must for employees driving company vehicles because of insurability and liability considerations. Information includes validity of the license, state of issuance, violations, accidents, suspensions and expiration date. Depending on the state, records for 3 to 7 years may be obtained and many state's records are available instantly.

SSN and Address Verification
This report lists historical addresses for the applicant utilizing the Social Security Number. Application information such as SSN, date of birth, age, current and previous addresses, and telephone number can be verified. Cutting edge technology allows verifications to be performed instantly and in the most cost effective manner possible.

Education Verification
Degree and/or enrollment information is provided for any level from high school thru post-graduate. Information includes degrees/diploma, majors/minors, dates of attendance, graduation dates, and can include achievements, honors and awards.

Credentials/Professional License Verification
This information is provided by state licensing boards and includes validity of licenses/credentials, date of issuance, expiration date, certifications, and reprimands and/or actions. Information for CPA's, attorneys, teachers, nurses, physicians, psychologist, pharmacists, and other licensed professions
is provided.

Previous Employment Verifications
This information is obtained from company payroll, HR, and personnel departments and from previous supervisors. In addition to job titles, salary information (where available), and employment dates, Pre-Employment Solutions, Inc. has been very successful in obtaining information about attendance, performance, skills, reasons for leaving, rehire eligibility and general comments.

Personal References
Pre-Employment Solutions, Inc. has developed a series of probing questions which focus on communication and leadership skills, interpersonal relationships, job skills and abilities, integrity, growth potential and motivation.

Workers' Compensation Histories
This search can only be performed after a conditional job offer has been made. Some states do not offer this information and information available varies from state to state. Typically, information includes: date of incident, time lost, employer, type of injury, body part, and case disposition.

Civil Records Search- County/Federal

These records are obtained from county or federal record searches. These are records of non-criminal lawsuits filed by or against the applicant. County records are found in either upper or lower courts typically determined by the dollar amount of the lawsuit. Federal civil actions include civil rights, EEOC, SEC, EPA and treasury, as well as interstate actions exceeding $10,000.
